Obverse description Facing helmeted head of Athena Parthenos, turned slightly to the left, rendered in the archaic Thessalian style. The goddess wears a Attic helmet adorned with a crest, with loose locks of hair visible at the sides framing the face. The facial features are boldly modelled in high relief, characteristic of the Greek bronze coinage of Thessaly in the early third century BC. The field surrounding the head is plain and unadorned.

Reverse description A wolf standing at bay to the right, depicted in a alert, aggressive posture with open jaws, rendered in typical Thessalian provincial style. Above the wolf, a bukranion (ox skull) is positioned in the upper field, serving as a regional religious symbol. The ethnic legend of the issuing community is inscribed in two lines in the field, reading ΦΑΛΩ/ΡΙΑΣΣΤΑΝ or ΦΑΛΩ/ΡΙΑΣΤΩΝ depending on the die variety, identifying the coin as an issue of the Phaloriassai or the people of Phaloria.
