Reverse description Asklepios enthroned to left upon an ornate seat, his body draped, holding a tall staff or sceptre in his left hand while extending a phiale in his right hand toward a serpent coiled upright before him. The scene is a canonical divine image associating the god with his sacred serpent attribute. The ethnic legend ΜΑΓΝΗ ΤΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing authority of the Magnetes. The composition is characteristic of late Hellenistic civic bronze coinage of Thessaly.
