Obverse description Facing bust of Athena Parthenos, helmeted, with head turned slightly to the left. The goddess bears a shield on her left shoulder and a spear over her right shoulder, rendered in the Archaic-to-Classical transitional style characteristic of Thessalian bronzes. A border of dots frames the design. To the left of the figure, in the field between the spear shaft and the dotted border, the letter Π appears as a mint or magistrate mark.
