Obverse description Forepart of a seal (phoke) facing right in low relief, rendered in the archaic style characteristic of early Phokaian coinage. The animal's rounded, compact body fills the small flan, with the head turned toward the viewer's right. The design is deliberately simplified due to the diminutive size of the denomination, yet the seal remains identifiable as the civic badge and punning emblem of Phokaia. The field surrounding the device is plain and unlettered.
