| Obverse description | Facing inward within a circular incuse field, a Boeotian shield rendered in relief, its characteristic cut-out side notches clearly defined. The shield's central boss is ornamented with a vertically oriented crescent device, a distinguishing civic emblem of Thespiai. The type is executed in the compact, stylized manner typical of small-denomination Boeotian fractional silver coinage of the early fourth century BC. |

| Reverse description | Draped bust of Aphrodite Melainis facing right, hair arranged in an upswept coiffure and secured beneath a stephane or light diadem, rendered in a refined though miniaturist style characteristic of Boeotian die-engraving of the period. The facial features are delicately modeled with a slightly pointed chin and gently curved profile. The retrograde ethnic abbreviation ΘΕΣ appears in the field, identifying the issuing polis of Thespiai. The entire composition is set within a shallow circular incuse. |
