| Obverse lettering | · LVDOVIC · REX · FRANC · ET · Z IAN D · (Translation: Louis, King of France, etc., and Lord of Genoa) |
| Reverse description | A cross pattée is set within a polylobe frame, with a rosette ornament placed in each of the four quadrants formed by the arms of the cross. The composition is enclosed by a reeded inner circle, consistent with the obverse border treatment. The surrounding Latin legend invokes the traditional Genoese imperial fiction, reading ✠ : CONRAD` · REX · ROMANOR` · TB · I ·, citing Conrad, King of the Romans, as the nominal feudal authority — a longstanding convention on Genoese coinage. The legend terminates with the initial letters of the presiding mint official, serving as a mintmaster's mark. |
