Reverse description Crowned shield of France bearing three fleurs-de-lis arranged two over one (France moderne), centrally placed within the field and surmounted by an elaborate royal crown. The shield is flanked by decorative elements and set within a plain inner circle. A circular Latin legend, identical to that of the obverse, runs along the outer border and is separated by pellets, invoking the Christus vincit formula as a declaration of divine royal authority.
