| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of Francesco Maria II della Rovere facing right, rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail including a bearded visage and lace-trimmed gorget. The effigy is set within a beaded inner border, with the legend disposed around the periphery commencing at lower left. The mintmark or die number 'P III' appears in the lower field beneath the bust truncation. The portrait style is characteristic of late Renaissance Italian hammered coinage, with naturalistic facial features and elaborately rendered armor. |
