| Obverse description | Armored bust of Francis I facing right, crowned with an open royal crown decorated with fleurs-de-lis and jewels, the hair falling in long locks to the shoulder. The king is depicted in three-quarter length, wearing elaborate armor with a decorated gorget and pauldron visible below the truncation. The effigy is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery. |
