| Obverse description | Central field displays a large Gothic letter S, the initial of Duke Siemowit (Semovit), with a small annulet below, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Gothic Latin script reads DVCIS SEMOVITI S, separated by pellets, running along the coin's periphery within the irregular flan. The design is characteristic of late medieval Mazovian hammered coinage, struck with hand-cut dies producing a somewhat irregular, flat relief. |
