Reverse description The reverse presents a central square panel set within a beaded circle, containing the Shahada in Arabic: La Ilaha Illa Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God), arranged in multiple lines across the field. In the four margins flanking the sides of the central square appear the names of the four Rashidun (Rightly Guided) Caliphs: Abu Bakr (top), Umar (left), Uthman (bottom), and Ali (right), a characteristic feature of Sunni Timurid coinage affirming orthodox Islamic legitimacy. The overall design is executed in bold Naskh script and enclosed within an outer beaded border typical of fifteenth-century Central Asian hammered silver issues.
