Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of King Stanisław August Poniatowski facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed flowing hair tied at the nape. The effigy fills the central field and is executed in the refined Neoclassical style characteristic of the Warsaw Mint under Holzhaeusser. The circular Latin legend surrounding the portrait reads STANISLAUS AUGUSTUS D.G. REX POLON. M.D. LITUAN., identifying the king by name and his titles as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania. The coin's broad flat rim is bordered by a continuous milled edge dentilation.

Reverse description The crowned arms of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth occupy the central field, displaying a quartered shield bearing the White Eagle of Poland and the Pursuer (Pogon) of Lithuania, with the Ciołek bull of the Poniatowski family on an escutcheon at the center. The shield is supported by elaborate laurel and oak branch mantling, and the whole composition is surmounted by a large royal crown. The mint master's initials E-B (Eberhard Benjamin Hille) appear at the base flanking a small ornament. The surrounding legend in two parts reads X EX MARCA PURA COLONIEN. on the right and the date (1783, 1784, or 1785) together with PRO FIDE LEGE ET GREGE on the left.
