Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of King Stanisław August Poniatowski, depicted in the Baroque courtly style with elaborately curled hair and richly detailed armour adorned with a decorative sash and star of an order at the breast. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, rendered with fine die-work showing naturalistic facial features in high relief. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading STANISLAUS AUGUSTUS D.G.REX POL.M.D.LITHU., separated from the toothed border by a fine inner rim. The overall composition reflects the refined engraving style characteristic of the Warsaw Mint under Poniatowski's reign.
