Reverse description The arms of the city of Elbing (Elbląg) prominently displayed at center: a quartered shield bearing two Teutonic crosses and two cross-hatched sections, supported and surmounted by a spread-winged angel whose figure dominates the field. The shield is set on decorative baroque scrollwork and cartouche. The date 1651 appears in the upper portion of the circular Latin legend, with the mint master's initials W-VE divided at the lower center of the field. The surrounding legend reads MONETA ARGENTEA CIVITATIS ELBINGENSIS 1651 W-VE, enclosed within a toothed border.
