Obverse description Crowned bust of Sigismund I the Old facing right, depicted in profile with a full beard and draped in a fur-trimmed mantle with an ornate collar, the royal crown rendered in fine detail above. The effigy occupies the central field within a beaded inner circle. A Latin legend runs along the outer margin, interrupted at the top left by the date, reading SIGISMVNDVS PRIM REX POLON (and the year 1529 visible at upper left).
