Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Jan II Kazimierz Waza, wearing an ornate royal crown with floral and foliate decoration, his long flowing hair falling behind his shoulder and over a mantle adorned with armour and lace collar. A small crowned shield bearing the Vasa dynastic device appears at the lower truncation. The effigy is rendered in the Baroque portrait style typical of mid-17th-century Polish coinage. The circular Latin legend runs along the coin's periphery, separated from the central design by a rope-pattern inner border.
