Obverse description Central field dominated by the interlaced royal cypher 'CG' (Carolus Gustavus) in stylized script, surmounted by a regal crown rendered in baroque manner. The crowned monogram is set within a plain inner circle, around which runs the Latin circumferential legend CAROLUS. GUSTAVUS. REX. in capital letters separated by stops. The overall design is typical of mid-17th-century Swedish hammered coinage, with bold relief lettering and a slightly uneven flan characteristic of hand-struck production.
