| Obverse description | Crudely executed royal monogram of Sigismund III Vasa rendered in low relief at the centre of the field, surrounded by a roughly incised inner circle. The design is characteristic of a contemporary counterfeit, exhibiting severely distorted and partially illegible letter forms in the peripheral legend. The surface shows significant copper corrosion with patches of verdigris, consistent with burial or long-term environmental exposure. The flan is irregular and the overall strike is weak and off-centre, betraying the illicit nature of the piece. |
