Obverse description Draped bust of King John II Casimir Vasa facing right, with long flowing hair, occupying the central field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading IOAN CAS REX (Johannes Casimirus Rex), partially abbreviated as was customary on small copper coinage of the period. The portrait is rendered in a relatively crude style characteristic of hammered Polish copper issues of the mid-17th century.
