Reverse description The arms of the city of Danzig (Gdańsk) are displayed at centre within an ornate oval cartouche flanked by elaborate baroque scrollwork supporters, the shield bearing two crosses beneath a crown, all surmounted by a royal crown. The composition is contained within a rope inner circle. The surrounding legend, reading from upper right, names the coin as a solidus of the city of Gdańsk, with the last two digits of the date (57) incorporated into the legend at upper left.
