Reverse description Hammered gold reverse of irregular round flan, entirely occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in bold Thuluth script. The inscription proclaims the sultan's titles and attributes as the 'gold striker, the glorious and victorious in the land and sea,' a formulaic honorific common to Ottoman sultani coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. The deeply incuse field displays a warm golden surface with characteristic hammer-strike flow lines, framed by a dotted inner border following the irregular edge of the planchet. Decorative knot or rosette ornaments appear in the lateral fields between lines of text, adding visual rhythm to the composition.
