| Reverse description | Within a circular border, a multi-line Arabic legend fills the entire field in horizontal registers. The inscription reads a honorific epithet proclaiming the sultan as the striker of pure gold, lord of glory and victory on land and sea. The bold Naskh lettering is deeply struck across the slightly irregular flan, characteristic of Ottoman hammered gold sultani coinage of the early sixteenth century. |
