Reverse description The reverse displays the incuse impression left by the application of the 'SM' countermark punch, presenting a characteristic concave relief corresponding to the oval cartouche visible on the obverse. The surface of the original host coin is heavily distorted by the countermarking process, rendering any underlying design elements largely indistinct. The pronounced bowl-shaped depression in the center of the field is a typical artifact of the hand countermarking technique employed on these Caribbean emergency currency pieces.
