Obverse description Provincial name 'GELRIA' arranged in two lines across the field, with the date below, all enclosed within a wreath of laurel branches. The legends are struck in a bold, somewhat irregular relief typical of hammered coinage of the period. The wreath border frames the central inscription, which serves as the primary design element in the absence of a figural effigy.
