Reverse description An elongated forked double cross occupying the central field, with a small escutcheon bearing the arms of Groningen superimposed at the center, all set over an ornate quadrilobe frame. The design is executed in the late medieval hammered style typical of northern German stiver coinage of the early sixteenth century. The reverse field is framed by a circular peripheral legend in Latin uncial script recording the date.
