Obverse description Facing crowned episcopal bust of Bishop Thomas of Bourlémont rendered in a flat, stylised Gothic manner characteristic of early 14th-century Lorraine coinage. The effigy is depicted full-face within a beaded inner circle, the crown rising prominently above the head with clearly delineated points. The surrounding circular legend is separated from the central field by a beaded border, with Gothic lettering running continuously around the periphery.
