| Obverse description | Frontal crowned bust of the bishop within a beaded inner circle, the effigy rendered in a stylised medieval manner with a floral or rosette crown. The bust is unadorned save for the crown and occupies the central field, executed in low relief characteristic of hammered episcopal sterlings of the late 13th century. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the legend disposed in the outer annulus separated from the field by the beading. |
