Obverse description Central field bears the heraldic shield of Namur, displaying a rampant lion to the left charged with a narrow diagonal band (baton sinister). The shield is presented in the typical hammered esterlin style. A three-part circumscribed legend in Gothic lettering encircles the central device, identifying the issuer as Marquis of Namur.

Reverse description A long double cross extends to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters. Three annelets are placed in each angle formed by the arms of the cross, a motif characteristic of Low Countries sterlings of this period. Two concentric circular legends intersect the cross arms, identifying the issuer as Guy, Count of Flanders, in abbreviated Gothic lettering.
