Obverse description Central field depicts a large Gothic crown surmounted by a fleur-de-lis, rendered in low relief in the hammered style typical of early fifteenth-century Scandinavian coinage. The crown rests directly in the coin's field without additional charges. The circumferential legend, reading in uncial Latin characters, is separated from the central device by a beaded inner circle. The flan is irregular in shape, as characteristic of hand-struck medieval issues. The overall design is bold and well-centred despite the inherent irregularities of the hammered technique.
