| Reverse description | Long cross pattée extending to the edge of the coin, dividing the reverse field into four quarters, each filled with three pellets arranged in a triangular pattern, producing a twelve-pellet design overall. A beaded inner circle frames the central cross design. The circumferential legend in uncial Latin characters reads DnS AQITAInIE (Lord of Aquitaine), running between the inner and outer borders. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, consistent with hammered silver sterlings of the mid-fourteenth century. |
