| Obverse description | Facing crowned bust of Edward I, Count of Bar, depicted with flowing hair falling to either side, set within a beaded inner circle. The effigy is rendered in a stylized Gothic manner typical of Lorraine sterling coinage of the early 14th century. The crown is prominently detailed with fleurs and points. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, interrupted by a cross at the outset mark. |
