Obverse description The Basel civic arms — a black diagonal bend (barre) on a white field — rendered as a shield in low relief, centered within an inner circle bordered by a ring of raised dots. The shield's lower point touches the inner circle, anchoring the design in the field. The execution is characteristic of late medieval hammered coinage, with the shield displaying a pronounced convex curvature and slightly asymmetrical outline consistent with hand-struck manufacture. No legend or inscription is present.

Reverse description Reverse completely blank, with a plain, featureless field typical of small medieval hammered bracteate-style fractional coinage where only one die was employed to impress a design.
