Obverse description Helmeted male figure depicted in the archaic running-kneeling posture (the so-called 'knielauf' convention), facing right, with the right arm raised and the left arm lowered, as though in combat or in the act of brandishing a weapon. The musculature of the torso is rendered in a stylized archaic manner characteristic of early Lycian coinage. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription, consistent with the anonymous issues of the early Lycian dynastic series.
