| Obverse description | Head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a serpent coil on the bowl and a decorative crest. The goddess's hair falls in loose waves beneath the helmet, and a beaded necklace is visible at the neck. The facial features are rendered in fine Hellenistic style with a strong profile, delicate nose, and slightly parted lips. The helmet cheek-pieces frame the face closely, leaving the portrait in three-quarter relief against a plain field. The overall style closely follows the Macedonian royal coinage tradition established under Alexander the Great. |
