Reverse description Confronted jugate busts of the co-ruling Roman emperors: the laureate head of Septimius Severus facing right and the draped bust of Caracalla facing left, presented in the Roman imperial portrait style. The Bosporan regnal date ЄqV (year 495 of the Bosporan Era, corresponding to AD 198-199) appears in the lower field below the busts. The combination of the Bosporan king's portrait on the obverse with Roman imperial effigies on the reverse reflects the political vassalage of the Bosporan Kingdom to Rome.
