Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of King Sauromates II facing right, rendered in a bold Greco-Bosporan style with a full beard and radiating hair. The portrait displays a strong, slightly barbaric character typical of late Bosporan royal coinage, with the king wearing a diadem tied at the back. The circular legend in Greek letters runs around the periphery of the flan, separated from the bust by a beaded border. The overall style reflects the syncretism of Hellenistic portraiture adapted to local Bosporan artistic traditions.
