| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of the Bosporan king Rhoemetalces facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition. The effigy is encircled by a beaded border with the Greek royal legend distributed around the periphery. The portrait displays characteristic late Hellenistic workmanship with visible drapery folds at the shoulder. The legend reads ΒΑϹΙΛΕΩϹ ΡΟΙΜΗΤΑΛΚΟΥ, identifying the issuing monarch. |
