| Obverse description | Griffin rearing up to left in high relief, depicted with spread wings finely engraved with individual feathers, the body spotted and powerfully rendered. The forelegs are raised and outstretched, the creature shown in a dynamic, rampant posture. Beneath the griffin lies a serpent coiled along the lower field, adding a mythological dimension to the composition. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of Abderite coinage of this period. |
