| Obverse description | A horse prancing to the left in high relief, rendered in the archaic Greek artistic tradition with bold, naturalistic musculature. A floral blossom is depicted above the horse's back in the upper field. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of hand-struck Thracian coinage of the early fourth century BC. The design fills the broad, unbordered field, with no legend present on this side. |

| Reverse description | A grapevine with spreading branches and pendant bunches of grapes, the emblematic symbol of the wine-producing city of Maroneia, depicted within a linear square border. The entire composition is set within a deep incuse square, a hallmark of early Thracian silver coinage. Partial letters of the magistrate's name ΠΟΣΙΔΕΟΣ appear along the lower edge of the inner square. The incuse square itself shows the characteristic rough punch marks of the hammered technique, with additional symbols visible at the corners of the border. |
