| Reverse description | Biga driven at full gallop to the right, with a helmeted charioteer holding the reins and a kentron (goad) raised aloft in the right hand. The two horses are depicted in dynamic motion with forelegs extended. A trident symbol appears in the lower field beneath the horses. The legend ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ is inscribed in the exergue along the lower border, with a control symbol visible in the right field. The composition follows the canonical reverse type established for Macedonian gold staters under Philip II and continued posthumously. |
