| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of victory, stands facing left in flowing drapery, extending a wreath in her raised right hand and holding a stylis (ship's stern ornament) in her lowered left hand. Beneath her left wing, a crescent above the letter Α appears in the field, while a buckle device is placed to the left. The legend ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ in Greek characters runs along the right field, identifying the issuing authority as Philip. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine stater reverse type, here adapted for Philip III Arrhidaeus at the Lampsakos mint. |
