Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a pendant earring and necklace, her crested Corinthian helmet adorned with a griffin leaping to the right. The goddess is depicted in the classical Macedonian style associated with the Philippic stater series, with fine engraving detail on the helmet crest and facial features. The field is plain and unlettered, consistent with the type struck in the name of Philip.

Reverse description Nike standing facing left, holding a wreath in her extended right hand and a stylis in her left hand, with her right wing lowered. In the lower field to the right appears a cornucopiae, while to the left stands a monogram accompanied by a pentagram. The inscription ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the issue within the Philippic gold stater tradition continued under Philip III Arrhidaeus. The composition follows the canonical reverse design established under Philip II.
