Reverse description Biga — a two-horse chariot — galloping vigorously to the right, driven by a charioteer holding a kentron (goad) aloft in his right hand and the reins in his left. The horses are depicted in full stride with forelegs extended, rendered with great dynamic energy. A racing torch or palm branch appears beneath the horses in the lower field. The legend ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ is inscribed in Greek characters along the lower exergue, identifying the coin as an issue of Philip II.
