Obverse description Diademed head of Mithradates VI Eupator facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with youthful, idealized features. The hair falls in thick, flowing locks across the temple and behind the neck, conveying an impression of vigorous dynamism characteristic of late Hellenistic royal portraiture. A diadem, the symbol of Hellenistic kingship, is tied across the forehead with the ends visible above the nape. The finely modeled facial features include a strong brow, well-defined nose, and slightly parted lips, all executed with high artistic quality. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse.
