Reverse description A stag grazing to left occupies the central field, rendered with naturalistic detail typical of Hellenistic engraving. In the left field, a star-in-crescent symbol appears, a dynastic emblem closely associated with the Pontic royal house. To the right, the regnal date B (year 2, corresponding to 87 BC) appears above the civic monogram of Pergamon. The entire design is enclosed within a Dionysiac wreath composed of ivy leaves and clusters of fruit, a device reflecting Mithridates VI's identification with Dionysos. The reverse legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY EYΠATOPOΣ, reading 'of King Mithridates Eupator', frames the composition.
