| Obverse description | Diademed and laureate bust of Mithridates III facing right, portrayed with youthful features and elaborately rendered curling hair beneath the wreath. The neck is bare and the portraiture is executed in a Hellenistic style closely influenced by contemporary Roman provincial coinage. The field is plain and the design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's periphery. No legend appears on the obverse, the entire face being dominated by the royal effigy. |

| Reverse description | Nike advancing left, her wings spread and her drapery in motion, holding a wreath extended forward in her right hand and a palm branch over her left shoulder. The figure is rendered in a dynamic Hellenistic style with fine detail in the feathered wings and flowing garments. The Bosporan regnal year ςΛΤ (336) appears in the field, flanking the figure. The circular Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΙΘΡΙΔΑΤΟΥ runs around the periphery, and the whole design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
