| Reverse description | A square incuse punch contains a richly detailed grapevine with sinuous, spreading branches bearing multiple clusters of grapes and stylized leaves, emblematic of Maroneia's celebrated wine-producing region. Surrounding the central square frame, the magistrate's name is distributed in Greek letters across all four sides of the field: MHT at the top, PO at the right, ΔOT at the bottom right, and OΣ at the lower left, reading ΜΗΤΡΟΔΟΤΟΣ. The incuse technique and vine motif are hallmarks of Maroneian silver staters of this period. |
