| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, portrayed in the Hellenistic idealized style with flowing, finely rendered hair swept back from the brow. The distinctive curling horn of Ammon emerges prominently from the temple region, identifying the subject as the divine son of Zeus-Ammon. The diadem is rendered as a narrow band binding the hair above the forehead. The portrait exhibits high artistic quality characteristic of early Hellenistic die-cutting, with well-modeled facial features including a strong jawline and aquiline profile. |
