Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, portrayed in a refined Hellenistic style with flowing, elaborately rendered curls framing the face. The small curved horn of Ammon emerges discreetly from behind the diadem above the ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with the Egyptian god Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is struck in high relief with fine detail in the hair and facial features, conveying both idealized youth and divine authority. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse field.
