Reverse description Athena Nikephoros enthroned left on a low-backed throne, dressed in chiton and aegis. In her extended right hand she holds a Nike, who faces left and appears to crown the royal inscription; her left hand grasps a tall spear, and her left elbow rests upon a large round shield decorated with an aegis device. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ ('of King Lysimachos') runs in two lines to the right of the enthroned goddess. To the left of the throne, a monogram is enclosed within a wreath, and a second monogram appears below the throne seat, serving as mint or magistrate control marks.
